Finland: World's largest timber school building to be completed in 2016 

A school complex constructed completely out of log timber will be completed in spring, 2016 in North Ostrobothnia. The vast building will be the largest of its kind in the world and has already attracted some one thousand visitors from around the world.

In a meeting on November 17, between the new ambassador of Russia to Estonia, Alexander Petrov, and Estonian Prime Minister, Taavi Roivas, Roivas invited the ambassador to encourage Russians living in Estonia to adopt Estonian citizenship.

                                                    

Europol chief says Further attacks likely after Paris carnage

Europe is likely to face new Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant (ISIL) attacks after those in Paris on Nov. 13, the head of Europol, the coordinating organisation of EU countries' police forces, said on Nov. 19.

"It is reasonable to assume ... that further attacks are likely," Europol director Rob Wainwright told lawmakers in a hearing in the European Parliament in Brussels. 

                    

Finnish President : EU countries may race to tougher asylum rules

President Sauli Niinistö says he is worried that European countries will become engaged in a race to impose increasingly tight restrictions on asylum seekers.

In an Yle TV interview Wednesday evening, President Niinistö pointed out that Norway, which has seen a significant influx of asylum seekers entering from Russia, is toughening legislation while both Sweden and Denmark have introduced similar measures affecting refugees.

Iceland Disabled Women Protest against violence

A group of disabled women yesterday demanded that the summer home be closed in which sexual assaults allegedly took place in the past, RÚV reports. The group delivered its demands to the Ministry of Welfare, the Ministry of the Interior and to Alþingi, the Icelandic parliament. Estonians distrustful of government's refugee policy 
A poll conducted by Turu-uuringute AS on opinions regarding the trustworthiness of Estonian parties and politicians when it comes to refugee policy shows that almost two thirds don't trust their government on the issue.

Estonia congratulates Latvia on its Independence Day

Wednesday November 18 saw Estonian President, Toomas Hendrik Ilves, congratulate Latvian President, Raimonds Vejonis, on Latvia’s 97th anniversary of independence.

Georgia Border Control tightened for citizens arriving from Asia and Africa

State Security Service Chief Vakhtang Gomelauri has said that dozens of people were not allowed to enter Georgia due to tightened security measures.

As Gomelauri told reporters after the Security and Crisis Management Council meeting, high control has been imposed in order to avoid use of Georgia as a transit for getting to Syria.
