Rape Statistics in Finland : Asylum seekers suspects 25 ,foreign nationals 271 out of over 1,000 cases 

Thé Police disclosed on Friday at a Press Conference thé Crime Statistics for 2015.

The total number of rapes reported last year reached over 1,000 cases , Thé police stated. Out of 1000 cases , foreign nationals were suspects in 217 cases and asylum seekers in 25.

Police further revealed that that there was an increase rise below 3 % in crimes committed by foreign nationals in 2015 compared to 2014.  Assault cases rose about  24 % over the 12 months period while rapes cases rose by 20% to reach 217 by the end of. 2015.

 Additionally, they were involved in 22 cases of sexual harassment and two instances of forced sexual acts.

Police Inspector Tommi Reen concludes that since the total number of rapes reported in 2015 was just over one 1,000 foreign nationals and asylum seekers only  accounted for a relatively small proportion of these crimes.
