Remains of massacred Turkish Cypriots discovered

The remains of 86 Turkish Cypriot civilians buried in a mass grave at the village of Sandallar or Santalaris in Famagusta have been dug up. The victims were from the Turkish Cypriot villages of Santalaris, Murataga, and Atilar,in Close proximity to each other in the Famagusta district. Thé number of People killed were 126 .
According to Kibris Gazetesi, the remains were found in a mass grave of people murdered by the EOKA B paramilitary organisation. Around August 1974.
All men of fighting age from the three villages were rounded up and sent to Limassol on July 20, the day of Turkey’s military intervention on the island.
