Chlorine leaks from pool in Czech mountains, 12 people treated

 Twelve tourists, seven of whom from Denmark, were take to hospital from the Klinovec ski resort in Ore Mountains on suspicion of breathing in a chlorine substance, which leaked from a nearby hotel swimming pool on Friday, Lukas Marvan has told CTK
Firefighter evacuated 50 people from the hotel complex, Marvan, spokesman for the local fire corps, said.
The police are investigating the case as endangering public safety, regional police spokeswoman Jana Slamova told CTK today.
 
Sodium hypochlorite, the solution of which is often used for disinfection, leaked from a pool in the Nastup hotel in the border town of Loucna pod Klinovcem in the Ore Mountains (Krusne hory) on Friday afternoon.
 
"The health care rescue service took away 12 people on suspicion of having inhaled (chlorine). Seven Danish tourists were transported to Annaberg, Germany, and five Czechs were treated in the Czech Republic," Marvan said.
Five fire fighters' units went to the place of incident.
"The leak was halted and the building was ventilated," Marvan said.
After the intervention, the firefighters measured zero chlorine substance concentrations in the hotel.
