The Migrant crisis could destabilise the Balkans says Slovenian and Croatian PM

At the first meeting in Slovenia, Slovenian Prime Minister Miro Cerar and his Croatian counterpart,Tihomir Orešković both expressed same opinion on the fact that migrant crisis could increase bilateral tensions.

The meeting was Croatian PM’s first visit abroad after taking office a week ago, and a first-time meeting between Orešković and Cerar.
Reports from Slovenian Prime Minister office, The Prime Ministers emphasized the meaning of good cooperation between the two countries and spoke about opportunities for further improvement of bilateral relations in several areas. The PMs also discussed the possibilities for further strengthening of economic cooperation between Slovenia and Croatia.
The issue of migrant crisis could not be avoided either. The PMs agreed there was a need for better cooperation between The two countries. Both are concerned about the lack of efficient and reliable European response and results of recent changes in migrant policies in some of the target countries, which have caused increased bilateral tensions and could later destabilise the Western Balkans.
Plans for better cooperation
Orešković supports Cerar’s initiative in supporting Greece and Macedonia to put a stop to illegal migrations along the Balkans. "The prime ministers have also settled on close cooperation in carrying out the initiative, both in terms of daily operation as well as in the light of February’s plenary session of the European Council," added the Office.
